I needed spark plug wires for my 73 2.0 but was unsure about where to get them. After some research i called Pertronix and spoke to a rep there who said that improper wires can interfere with the operation of the unit, especially copper core wires.
He said that pertronix recommends graphite core, stainless steel spiral wound wires.
But i could not find a set that i could cut to fit my 2.0 for less than about $60 So i decided to just get wire and make my own, but Taylor wire from Jegs which Pertronix suggested wanted about $75 for a 30 ft roll of wire.
After more searching i found a site called
https://tonsperformance.com/
They sell Pertronix 8 mm Flame thrower wire (what the Pertronix tech recommended) by the foot for $1.60 per foot. I needed about 12 feet so that cost me about $26 with shipping.
It is available in black, red, blue and yellow as well.
They also sell other brands of wire as well as boots, connectors, complefe kits and custom built sets.
Good information! Thanks for sharing!
Dwayne :)
