I worked for one whole year washin dishes at a resturaunt to get it to this point, then one month after i got it on the road, some moron pulled out in front of me when i was doin about 55, i locked up the rears, and went sideways into a parke '72 nova, my baby was gone. i had the parts for sale on here, but my "loving" father paid $40 to have it towed to the junkheap, after i spent nearly $1000 on just getting it road-worty, god damn i was pissed.
the aftermath, no it aint pretty, but i know yall wanna see how bad it was, damnit dad, i hate you for that, the least you can do is let me paint your '65 f-100, you rat bastard!
Man I'm sorry to see/hear that.
Back in 1989 I had an instance I'm my Pinto on the 215 going through Perris Ca. It wasn't a freeway then ,it was still a highway with many side streets and people always "merging". I was in the left lane doing bout 65 (55 speedlimit :police:) and accelerated to about 75 to pass a couple of cars doing bout 60 :o. In a heartbeat someone started to pull out onto the highway and i swear they weren't more than about 300 feet in front of me when i yanked the wheel back to the left to go around them ( if i had hit the brakes id have PLOWED them and i might not be here) well I'm doing 75 at this time and next thing I know, I'm sawing the wheel left and right to across both lanes of the highway keep me from spinning like a top and into the dirt in between the highways.
After all of about 5 to 6 seconds of this I ended up pointing straight ahead doing about 45 by now and then i started looking around to see who I hit and the lights of the CHP. Well God was with me as I didn't hit anyone ,and no one hit anyone else. and no cops . WHEW!!!
I kept it shiny side up and then drove the rest of the way to work at the posted speed limit :embarassed:
I have to say that the only thing that helped me on the car was the fact that i had some 235/50/13 and 215/50/13 bf t/a's and it was abit lower than stock. Later though i noticed that the tires had almost rolled to the rim with scuff marks.
Sorry you weren't so lucky. Try try again.

" OUCH, Baby! Very OUCH!"
I feel your pain, Brother!
I had a '71 that my grandmother was the first owner of.
Through the years there were some unfortunate accidents and it gained the nickname "the tennis ball" because "It could bounce off of anything".
It was indestructable.
I miss that car!
i still cry about it to this day, but all is well, i picked up a '73 hatch-back with a 2.3T out of a '85 t-bird, but i need a new clutch, might just get a 5-speed tranny out of a 'stang lx, and get a stage2 clutch, and maybe a different rear end, or i might change out the final drive gears. not sure, but its coming along.
