I've been thinking of building a pinto on the side. Right now I have a 99 Camaro Z/28, but I've been thinking of swapping a 2.3 into a 74+ pinto. Can you give me any ideas of what it might run at the track?
2.3t
Front-mount intercooler
20 psi or so
100 shot of nitrous
3500 stall
Ranger roller-cam
open down-pipe
c4 with trans brake
8.8 rear with 3.55 gears
Slicks and a few suspension things..
I'm hoping 10s. Something similar to Joe Morgan's car.
BTW, here's my camaro, www.cardomain.com/id/bonestockls1

Hey, Joe built his car from junk yard peices and a NOS bottle. It blew up like junk yard engines on NOS do also. Spend some money on some good parts so you can have your car last awhile.

Yeah, He's my hero............. ;)
I really wish that some day someone will explain to these kids just how much is involved in obtaining a 10 sec 1/4 mile time. I hear it every week, some dumb snot nose, put a k&n filter and a chip in his yugo and turned 10 seconds at such and such track, I'm so sick of hearing it that im about to turn violent. Its just like back in the 80's when everybody was yacking about the dirt bikes.
" oh my bike has a power band, yeah my bike has three, yeah mine has it in the carb, oh mine has it in the exhaust. "
I didn't know any better, so I asked my dad. I got slapped for being stupid. And a lecture on not trying to act like you know all about something when you dont.
If anybody reading this still thinks that their bike has a powerband, you are correct as long as your bike runs. the powerband is the range of power from idle to redline.
BUT a POWER VALVE controls exhaust flow for more power. 20 years later my face still stings and it still pisses me off.
