Hi - just visiting, looking for a little info/help - my buddy and I are mopar guys, but we rescued a nice Pinto a couple years ago - and by we, I mean he got it, and I'm storing it! - therefore, I'm a little more motivated than he is to find a good home for it, so here I am - we're finding that the market for a pinto is very limited, no matter how special the car - it's really neat and we're getting tired of being laughed at by other old car people because "it's still a pinto" - and anyone who is even remotely interested wants to drive it daily for the good gas mileage, or make a race car - but it deserves to be taken care of "as is"
it was a one owner car before us, the proverbial "little old lady" bought it new - my buddy's garage had serviced it for her since it was new, and they wound up with it, she has since passed away - it's a 72 hatchback, with the "bigger" motor and auto - 54,000(?) miles on it now - mostly original everything, interior is in great shape - the special part about it is, not only is the paint obviously original (with some spot and sections touched up), but it was a special order color, not listed in any paperwork - it's a pinkish purple color, with a black & white interior - that's right a purple pinto! - ok, maybe it's lavender - the spot on the door tag for the paint code is blank - definitely original paint, and the same color inside the body, under the interior etc - with silver racing stripes! - found the stripes shown somewhere as a Boss option in 71 I think? but here they are in 72 - it had went thru the gas tank recall, and had the chrome cap, but she still had the original purple/striped one in a box, so we put it back - it's even got a repro motorcraft battery and oil filter now - I also collected all of the 72 dealer showroom paperwork I could find - amazing how reasonable pinto stuff is!
anyway, like I said, we're into mopars, I'm running out of room, something's gotta give - but we've been dragging our feet because we really do want to see it go to someone who will appreciate it for what it is - anyone have any thoughts or interest? if so, maybe I can try to get some digital pics to post or email - any idea what it should sell for? located in a fairly rural/suburban area of central New Jersey - he took it to the Ford show at Carlisle, I guess in `03 if anyone might remember seeing it there
Tony P. likes purple pintos............ ;)

Hi - sorry for the delay in answering your emails - didn't get back to check soon enough - meanwhile, my buddy has apparently convinced another friend of ours that the purple pinto is right for him - he is supposed to pick it up tonight - timing is everything, right? - hopefully he will give it a good home - if for any reason their deal falls through, I'll post another message, with pictures - thanks for the responses

Uh huh, see how ya are? get us all worked up for nothing.
sorry - I'm looking around for pictures of it - I must have some of the darn thing somewhere, it was at my place for a couple of years - when I find them, I will scan and post - if not, I'll go to Joe's house and take some new ones! - who knows, the new owner is another mopar fella, he might be willing to part with it anyway, if someone wanted it.......
