Hi everyone, I have a 1972 Pinto Runabout, my igniotn sticks when I try to start my car, the starter continues to engage when key is in the run position, can someone help!
thanks
Jim
A quick check is to whack the starter relay on the fender well with a.mallet when it happens. They have a tendency to stick when they are going bad.
Or just replace it, but get a Motorcraft brand if/when you do.

Ditto on the relay..
I had one stick on my 1988 e350 motorhome... completely fried the started before I could get the battery cable disconnected
thanks guys! I will try it!
Jim
Btw.. a prudent safety measure in the meanwhile is to not tighten the negative batt terminal, just sort of jam it onto the battery post so it makes contact but is loose enough to allow you to disconnect it if necessary
👍🏼 thx
