A friend of the pinto community makes maverick repair patches and wants to know if there is a need for pinto door patches.
Yes there is...
While I was able to make my own patch (lower, driver side) I'd think that others would still have a need. Regardless of how the patch is acquired I HIGHLY recommend enhancing the drainage of the doors. The drain holes are set some distance back from lower corners. This allows water to build up if the Pinto is parked on any kind of an incline. I drilled additional drain holes as close as possible to the immediate corner. I also, cleaned and coated the lower 4" of the inner door with POR -15 as future protection.
Good idea with the holes. And those that have saggy doors will have better drainage since the water will go downhill.
Okay they are going to make samples
[size=78%]Want you to know that after a few request we are coming out with the door bottoms. Door bottom 80.00 will have the weather strip anchor holes in them and they are side specific. Also the outer skin will become available a few days after. The outer skin up to the body line will be 70.00. These parts are out of US 20 gauge cold rolled Steel. This is also a slide in place like the Mavericks. We are taking preorders and the response we get on those will determine the future of this item. Both right and left doors are available.
