If anyone has done this please let me know what master cylinder you ended up using.
I will be using an adjustable proportioning valve, but I am pretty sure I need to change the master cylinder regardless.

Yes you will have to change the mater cylinder,  rear drum brake cylinders have a valve to keep a slight pressure on the rear wheel cylinders , if you were to use it on rear disk brake set ups it would have dragging rear brakes , also the duel disk brake cylinders have more fluid capacity in the rear part of the cylinder , note small area when you fill a stock pinto cylinder , also they are different bore sizes, kind of hit and miss on none power brake cars , try a Ford Fusion cylinder that has duel disk brakes ,  close to the weigh of the car , but you still  might need a adjustable proportioning valve to fine tune it , only a drive test will find out for sure , good luck

I'm finding that a lot of what I thought I knew doesn't necessarily apply to Pintos, or I didn't know as much as I thought I did. Like with this, I can go to a Mustang site I am on and find out exactly what model master to get, but that might not be the right one for a Pinto.
Just hoping to do this without any really expensive mistakes.
I actually never thought I would have the money to do all this stuff so I am a bit under prepared.
