Title: mile per gallon questions
Post by: robw on September 01, 2005, 01:50:30 AM
I am almost ready to get my pinto on the road for a little bit before winter sets in and was wondering what you guys got for gas mileage. I'm used to driving a 76' chevy with a 7" lift so i usually get about 9.5 to a gallon, anything is better than that seeing how they are really raping us at the pumps. my dad said he got around 35 MPG in a 1978 wagon 2.3/4-speed(not sure if I believe him), mines a 1980 runabout 2.3/auto. thank you

Hello robw,
Expect about 18-25 depending on how you drive.
Things to check.
Tire pressure.
air filter.
Spark plugs and wires.
Timming.
All these effect MPG.
A real light foot helps too.
