Just registered, posting to say hey for now and introduce myself :) I'm currently 19 years old. I live in Woodstock, GA which is about 15 minutes out of Atlanta. I currently own an '88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe which is near completion as far as restoration goes w/ 89,500 original miles on her. You know what that means! ;D Time for a 2.3T Pinto as well!
I got into the auto scene when I was 17 and had my first car (1987 Thunderbird TC). I'm currently searching around for info on swapping a 2.3T motor into a Pinto. When the TC is done, I plan to have a '74+ Pinto sitting in my garage within a month. I'd like to start with a clean, good running one but time will tell what I get. This will be my first big project, and I can't wait to dig into it! I've never pulled a motor before or even rebuilt one for that matter, but I have my heart set on this project :) I'm hoping to have a fun, reliable cruising car with good effeciency and power. I figure with something nearly half the weight of a TC but with the same driveline I can't really go wrong
Hi Ryan, and welcome to FordPinto.com! Keep an eye out on the Pinto's for Sale thread in the Classifieds, and there are lots of good people here to help you with the 2.3 T swap.
Good luck with your project! I am in the process of restoring my first 'Project Car', a 1977 Pinto Cruising wagon I bought out of a salvage yard. The progress is charted in the 'Your Project' thread under the title 'REBEL: 1977 CW Resto'. Check it out, and consider posting your progress there as well under your own heading. I'm not to the point of turning the key yet, don't know what shape the motor is in, but if there is any problems, I am going with the turbo swap as well.
Again, welcome to the club!!
Welcome Ryan................ :police:
welcome Ryan!

you know, it's kinda funny, you saying that your are finishing up a resto on and 88.
having graduated high school in 84, it doesn't seem as though it should be ready for resto yet...
it's good to hear though, that you are finishing up, it's got to feel really good, knowing that soon you can just enjoy it, rather than working on it...
everone here is so helpful, so i'm sure that you'll get lot's of support,
to help make your project go smoothly.
i just (sept last year) got my 76 pinto wagon, and i cannot begin to tell you how much i love driving that car!! everyone i see, when i'm driving, gives me the thumbs up, asks what year it is and says "i haven't seen one of those in years!"...it's so much fun....
20 miles to the gallon, too, which is way cool, considering gas just broke the $3 mark up here (chicagoland)
so anyway, thanks for joining us, good luck, we'll keep an eye out for your progress.
have a happy day.
