I have taken the gas tank off to clean it, and can"t find a o-ring seal that seals the filler pipe to the tank. Does anyone know where I can find a new one? Do you have a part number for a 1974 model ? Are all models the same for this seal?
Hi...I am relatively new on this site but wonder if you ever found out what to do about this seal issue...I have a 1929 Mercedes Gazelle replica powered by a 2.3 Pinto (donor car was 1974 Pinto 2 door) and have the same issue...The seal area smells gassy and only when I fill up I can smell gas for a time, then when tank gas gets lower the smell is gone so obviously I will need to replace that seal...Any input would be appreciated...

sscenterprises yea.. I ordered a cowl seal form him.. his name is Scott too... Great guy,
I actually picked up a new one on Ebay. You just have to watch for them, they show up from time to time.
I got mine from my local ford dealership for about $13.74 w/tax. If you have an old dealship/warehouse I'd check there first. They had three in stock at the time.
Hi All...Would like to take this opportunity to thank all who responded on this issue...Problem solved for me and being new to this site, I did not know what to expect...Again thanks for the advice and information to all who responded...Chuck (Gazelle)...
