Title: wiring problems

I HAVE A 74 RUNABOUT,2.3 ,4spd THAT HAD ELETRICAL FIRE UNDER THE DASH AND ALL THE WIRING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED , I WAS WONDERING WHAT OTHER YEAR MODEL PINTO'S  WIRING HARNESS WOULD INTERCHANGE SINCE I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A 74 PARTS CAR BUT I HAVE LOCATED A 80 MODEL, BUT I HAVE TO BUY THE WHOLE CAR JUST TO GET WHAT I NEED AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE IT WILL WORK , ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APRCIATTED.

Hello BOOMER,
Welcome to the Ford Pinto forum.
IF your 74 and the donor 80 have the same engine and tranny and both have the same accessorys.
I would say that IF you swapped "ALL" wiring it would work.
If you just try to replace selected parts I think you will have problems
A wiring sechematic for the 1974 and 1980 Pinto would be invalueable in your quest.
