Well now that I am done with other peoples projects I finally get to move on my pinto.
I have my 75 pinto, 89 stang 5.0 and today picked up an 84 turbo coupe.
We have had the stang for awhile and since my wife got a new car it has become a future donor rig for me :)
I have been trying to decide if I want to go with a 5.0 or the turbo 4, I was about to give up on finding a 4 and diving in on the 5.0. Today the 84 turbo coupe just kinda fell in my lap. It has a rebuilt engine (5k miles ago) and a 2 month old turbo on it. I have all the reciepts for this stuff. This car runs great and drives sweet. All for a whopping $600 how could I pass on that??
I have been reading for a number of months and have lists of pros and cons for each swap.
I am going with the turbo, I've done many other installs/swaps over the years but never a pinto. The turbo sounds a bit simpler than the V-8 and its something different than my normal stuff.
I am setting up a small website and will have pics etc of the build for anyone interested. I'll post a url in this thread once its up and notify of updates here.
I would like to give a big thanks to all who have posted build experiences, how-to's, tips etc... on these forums, I have amassed quite a little notebook to refer to. I am sure I'll have some questions along the way.
