Title: A/C combination valve
Post by: warhead2 on June 09, 2017, 05:50:49 PM
Where is the A/C combination valve on 77 cruising wagon is it in the engine bay or inside under the dash? Also if in the engine bay does anyone have it mounted in a different spot? If so post a picture. 2nd pic Dont know if mine is missing or I just missed it because it was was mounted elsewhere. From the photos they are two different hook ups , one the valve and hoses in the photo is for a factory A/C ,  which should come out were the fan motor that is sticking out the fire wall , the compresser you have in the photo is a dealer installed A/C unit , (see hose clamps ) you will find two holes in the fire wall someplace , unless somebody put that engine from another car and left that compressor on it ,  "note " factory A/C cars have the blower motor inside the car ,

Thank you for the reply. The engine is original. I figured it was a dealer install but was unsure because the reciver dryer is by the window washer fluid tank. So if a dealer did install it does it have the combination valve?  The hose's are by the heater hose's(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170612/2d53f90b90d2cfbbb830d119d5854b47.jpg)

The dealer installed A/C does not have the combination valve , the unit that used this system has a expansion valve built on to the whole assembly that goes in/under the dash , you can try vintage air , they make some nice small units that will fit in the dash , or find a wrecked pinto nearby that has the whole factory set up and swap it over , done it a few times , take a whole weekend
