Now I have a hatchback to complement my wagon
Front back together
Looks nice , and looks complete, those came with more nice options, :D
Nice score!!!
Dwayne :)
Off to the body shop to get the floors and quarters fixed. I plan on having it on the Stampede this year.
Floors in
Looks good!
Dwayne :)
Spray a lot of water on the front windshield and cowl area , make sure these know places do not leak and have a chance to rust out the floor in the future , better check now than cry later , wet carpet will rot faster along with the floors , ask me how I know :o
Found rims started restoration on one also changing center caps
congrats Phill
I also have a 77 bobcat. You might be interested how I drew in my bumpers to make a better looking car. The original instructions are here. http://www.fordpinto.com/your-project/simple-fat-bumper-fix/
Good luck with your car.
Bill
Nice job so far Phil. Did you have the floors welded in professionally?
Yes I'm not comfortable welding .new tires and rims go on tomorrow. Engine parts on the way. Still have interior to work on.
One on
Raining today in between drops here is one side
Phill. Looking good like a Pinto should/ Keep up the good work.
Doing some nice work to the little car Phil. What did you paint the car with?
It is only a 20 ft paint job but consistent color. Just spray cans for now.
Doesn't look bad at all and there is a lot to be said for consistent color!
Dwayne :)
What color and what kind of spray paint? Looks very good.
Looks really good Phil. You bringing this one to the show in Geneva as well as the wagon?
A few more changes
Looks like a nice ride Phil. Does this one have the radio delete option like your wagon?
Every Pinto pony I ever saw in a dealers lot had a radio delete panel. Just the pony cars.
His bobcat villager wagon came with the radio delete.

All three of my 80 Pinto pony's came with the delete panel but with the antenna hole drilled in the fender. Had a plastic cover over the hole.
No hole in fender of wagon.
This has an am only radio. Plan on upgrade.
I like the blacked out look. Looks slick. Did you ever consider painting the wheels black with a red line to go with the color combination of the car?
No white wheel stay.
Went for a drive yesterday about mile into it the brakes locked up again. Took a lot but finally got home. Today check the rear brakes. Rebuilt the drivers side. Then played under hood. Adjustments on carb. Idles better don't bog down as bad, but still has a "flat " spot about the time it shifts and still will not go over 60 mph. I guess I should take carb apart and check for garbage.
May want to check the rear hose. If it's old it might be collapsing which could lock up the rear brakes.

Any updates? I love Bobcats!
He must have fixed it because he quit posting. Hope its really fixed and not just parked.

Glad to see all is ok. Keep us informed about your cars.

However the difficulty is made easier knowing they are a Pinto and a Bobcat!
Working on a Pinto or Bobcat is so easy compared to a modern day car. I can not even see the spark plugs on my new Suburban. A screw driver and plyers will do most of a Pinto / Bobcat daily maintenance. SO EASY.
