thanks so much for the welcome,
the site has been invaluable to my husband and i.
in sept last year, we bought a super cute '76 pinto wagon. i smile everytime i drive it, listening to my am only radio, singing along to nat king cole, ray charles and the carpenters! my friends think i'm crazy, maybe i am, but it makes me happy...the worst response i got, when i was "showing off" my newest rig was "wat did ya buy that for!?!?" :o
well, cause i love it, fell in love at first sight, as a matter of fact, i even keep a picture of it in my wallet. ;)
anyway, i wanted to thank all of the memebrs of the site, the administrators and all of the newbies, this site has been fun and helpful...i'll log on every day....
thanks for being there! have a happy day.
I'ts our pleasure to help. ;D
Me thinks she has got the pinto bug, .... But since she speak our words so well, she is one of usssss.......!
Thanks for the good words, it means a lot to the Admins here... It does take a great deal of time & effort to make this site go but all us Admins are really having a great time doing it!
Hello Fellow Pinto Fans,
I just want to thank the group of folks who started this site and continue to share their time and effort to keep the Pinto alive. This is a fantastic web site for anybody who loves these cars. Because the Pinto is not your typical classic, those of us that have them don't have as many resources to maintain them as other classic car owners do. I have been a Pinto fan since 1982 when I had my first. It was a 73 Runabout with the tiny 1.6L coupled to a manual transmission. It moved pretty good considering its small engine and I loved driving it. Anyway, I have been checking out this web site for while now and finally got over my internet fears and registered with this site. My current Pinto is a 74 Runabout with the 2.3L and C4 tranny. It was my daily driver from January 2001 until February 2003. I was restoring it a little at a time until I parked it in storage just before I moved to Maryland from Virginia. I am currently in the process of looking at my engine options since the current one started making a metalic knocking noise. I am leaning toward the Turbo 2.3L upgrade because I want to be able to enjoy driving it again on the street. I miss the stares by people who see the car and either don't know what kind of car it is or have not seen one on the road a while. I have enclosed a picture of the car
in the condition it is in now. I have some work ahead of me and I hope to make it at least drivable before winter. The current situation with the Pinto, although sad is also funny. My friends and co workers think I am nuts and they just don't understand my desire to keep the car and fix it.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks again!

Hey...4R11y...Welcome ! I`m sure i speak for the other Pinto fan`s out there...you have something very unique...I have been a Pinto fan since they were first introduced in 1971...(My Jr year in High School) and have heard all the rabble and negative remark`s...and finally bought my first `71 in 1986 for my oldest daughter ...she was not impressed...so I drove the car for a year as a commute vehicle to and from work and loved it...(she had to buy her own after that) Now I have my `73 Runabout and a project `73 I got for a 2.3 turbo swap...and I must say it is nice to talk to people that stop me and ask about the `lil pony`s....My Daughter want`s one now! Hang in there! ::)
Thanks for the welcome 73 Pintogeek. Two Pintos, hopefully equal double the fun. You are doing good dude. I have two teenage kids and they don't care for mine much either but they understand that to me its a special car. I do have the satisfaction of knowing that they are among the very few of their generation to at least driven one. Their very first time at the wheel was in my current Pinto. It was on the back roads in rural Minnesota while I was there visiting from Virginia. Talk to you again soon.
Take care
