:-\ ok, i'm sorry, i tried really hard not to ask for help...but maybe someone knows this already, and i can stop beating my head against my keyboard (my parts list is on the way, i really hope it helps the project) I NEED A HORN FOR MY CAR!! i can't find one specifically listed for a 76, there's probably a range of years that will work, or maybe one of the mustangs, probably the bobcat, but i have no clue!
if any of you know, i would really appreciate any assistance you could offer me!!
sorry to be so needy, but i'll stay on the sight forever (cause that's how long i'm keeping my car)
and i promise when i am smart, i'll help the new guys behind me....thanks so much!
ps, there's a couple of guys parting some of their cars out
(even someone doing demolition derbys?!?-how brave!)
and i responded to them, i hope they won't get mad if the
years they have won't work for me and my rig...
anyway thanks so much, have a happy day, j
I've got one off my 73 parts car. I am pretty sure it would be the same. It is yours if you want it, just pay for shipping. I will test it to make sure it works. If not I think there may be one in a big lot of pinto parts I just bought. It will not be till this weekend till I know exactly what is there though.....
just about ANY Ford horn should work. The Pinto never had the typical small car "meep meep" horn.
A side note (literally) Didja know most car horns beep in the key of "F"?
i am so happy to have you guys with me :D you all have been so very helpful!
ttiger, i'll wait to hear back from you, and crazyhorse...isn't it amazing the number of little things the human brain can contain! but heaven help us, when we want to learn something new!
thanks guys!! so very much, i really do appreciate it!
You may have 2 horns, a low note and a hi note.
If you just have 1 it will be a low note.
Any Ford horn will fit, horns are not specific to years or models.
hi bill :laugh:GOT MY PARTS LIST!!
actually it's the from the mitchell repair,
good thing you sent me the note, cause my new list doesn't give info, just the ford part number!
you are right though (not that i questioned it, but just to confirm) the book shows only low tone.
here's the funny thing, though....took the car to my first carshow ever, a friend of mine was there, reached into the car, checking to see if the horn work, and it did! fixed itself, i just love it when that happens, i'll still replace it, cause it's probably a short (intermittent).
just wanted to let you know.....have a happy day!!
