Hi Folks:
If a Ford mechanic working at a Ford dealership had 40 years of experience (1965-2005),
how many Pinto engines do you think in that time period that person had worked on?
Pintos were made from 1971-1980.
Also, how many total carburetor engines do you think in 40 years that person had worked on?
Thanks for your guesstimations!

OooooK:
See if you all agree with this logic. Most cars had carburetors from the 60's through the 80's. So that's
a good 25 years that a Ford mechanic worked on carburetor engines. Assume this person worked 50 weeks
a year (2 weeks vacation,>:( ) and say he worked on one carburetor engine per day. So in 25 years this person
might have worked on (25 years)x(50 weeks/year)x(5 engines/week) 6250 carburetor engines. So, it would
be safe to say this person had worked on more than 5000 carburetor engines. As for the Pintos, yes I agree
the number is zero. ;D However, assuming for the Pintos (10 years)x(50 weeks/year)x(2 engines/week)
that would be 1000 Pinto carburetor engines.
In conclusion, a Ford mechanic with 40 years of experience would have worked on at least 5000 carburetor
engines (for any reason) and at least 1000 Pinto carburetor engines.
Would you agree that these numbers are conservative?
Thanks!

Hey UFOSteVieZ:
I'll take some pics today and post them. Let me know if you want actual dimensions and I'll get
those to you too!
Got to love those flying Pintos! ;D

Hey UFOSteVieZ:
Here are a few pics. Let me know if this helps and if you need more info.

Hey UFOSteVieZ:
Here are a few more pics of the lower graphics.

I have to ask if your numbers are for over 5000 different engines or do you count the same engine more than once.
I have never met a mechanic that gets it right the first time, especially working on carburators so a lot of those engines would have been the same as the past so do you count them again?
;D
Thanx!!
That is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I appreciate the trouble you took to get the pics! ;D
BTW: You can zoom in on the porthole and get a good look at what you look like... :)
Thanks again!

The 2.0 engine was originally a generator engine ment to run almost forever. I guess he worked on 2 engines and 1 carb............ :P ::)
