Title: help help help...ignition box trouble
Post by: ponyracr71 on August 11, 2005, 10:35:46 PM
currently have problem with my circle track racer pinto.  it seems the ignition module went bad, or so i thought, so i replaced it. (blue plug).  also have new regulator in place.  the regulator, coil, and ignition control module are all mounted in straight line across left hand inner fender wall, sheet metal.  now i cant put the module back in place.  the car only runs with the module sitting on the fender.  car dies when you lower into place.  have also wiggled and pulled on wires at distributor and plugs while sitting on fender so no loose connections.  no exsposed wires either.  what is wrong?  might the coil be bad and effecting the module?  someone please help.  i need to get to the track again.  had to pull out of the main at the county fair race with power cutting on and off.  and yes replaced carb, fuel filter, lines and pump at the fair race and still cut power.  thats why i thought it was the ignition module. ??? :'( :(
