Title: 72 pinto front suspension (HELP!!)
Post by: kc8lqu on August 08, 2005, 06:46:20 PM
Hi everyone,

I am rebuilding the front suspension on my 72 pinto and I need some help badly.  I was reading some other posts and have gotten some new ideas but I am still unsure on some things.  I need to find some lower control arm bushings and ball joints.  I found heidt's hot rod shop has a rebuild kit for mustang II's.  It comes with all the bushings and ball joints you need.  Does anyone know if this will work on my 72?  If not do you know where I can find these parts.  Thanks for all your help.

Hello  kc8lqu,
The Heidt's stuff will not work on your 72 Pinto. Wrong geometry!
The parts you need sometimes come up on ebay.
I also stock NOS upper and lower assys. for the early Pinto.
My arms are complete NOT REBUILT!
NEW units 125.00 each.

Howdy

-The 71-73 suspension is the less common of the two, and parts are harder to find and in shorter supply. I came across lowe ball joints on ebay. the uppers i bought at the local parts house. They had to order them, but i got them anyway. For bushings, the only place i know of is Racer Walsh.
FOr those, click here- http://racerwalsh.zoovy.com/product/RWA2241
Good luck

Try http://www.p-s-t.com/ (http://www.p-s-t.com/).   I am researching rebuilding a '72 front end.   They have a kit for $199   It's not the urethane bushing's I'd like, but it's the cheapest and most comprehensive kit I've seen.
