So I've been stripping paint, doing bodywork and shooting epoxy primer on my V8 car. Today was the day I had planned to deal with the cowl which had already been replaced when I got the car and is held on by 2 sheetmetal screws. Paint stripper blistered the paint off quickly and easily to reveal.....chrome. I sh*t thee not, tiny mortals.....somebody chromed the cowl on this car. Anybody ever seen that before?

You sure that's chrome ?
That piece is galvanized.....

Look into my Bobcat's cowl and it is definatly galvanized

Nope. Definitely chrome. Really cheap, badly done, peeling-off chrome. Not chrome done right...not copper, then nickel, then chrome bath. More like "Hey, here's $20....dip this in the chrome bath for me."
