Hello, I am looking for a good hot street cam for my 72 runabout, looking at an Isky 465 and an Erson E259322
.The car is not a daily driver , has a 2.0/ 4 speed 3:80 geared 8 inch,205/60 13 tires. Has dual 40 DCOE Webers and a hedman header w/ 2.25 headpipe. Mallory dual point w/o vacuum advance and converted to pertronix with a flamethrower coil.It is stock compression. I am looking for good top mid to top end power. BTW this car is pretty quick just as it is but looking for more power without swapping engines. Thanks to anyone who can recommend any upgrades from here or tell me if I'm going in the wrong direction.
Get a copy of the Building the 2.0 Pinto and you will read about the Sig Erson cam they used. VERY good DD and autocross cam in a 2.0. No longer made by Sig but they will get you close. I ran one for years with several autocross major wins. I ran the same set up you have with a 4:11 rear gear and a 10lbs flywheel. Turn the snot out of it / it'll not let you down.
Are the cams made by Sig today different than those of the 80s? usaperform.com shows three for the 2.0
The E259322 has .494 lift, dur @ .050 228 with 110 deg.lobe separation, 2500-5500 rpms.
The E259422 has .500 lift, dur @ .050 260 with 110 deg.lobe separation, 3500-6500 rpms.
Is the book you mentioned a how to rebuild book or a race book? I tried finding it but no luck. Thanks for the reply . Rich
A race book and a DD too. See them on amooozone all the time.

That's the one Art! The go to book for 2.0L Pintos. No Calif BS in that book. Just good ole UK.
About the best one you're gonna get out there..
OMG ! Ive got this book... thanks , will do a long read today after work, looks like the new erson cams ARE different than the old ones. RATS
back in the day..1980 ish i had a 72 capri with a 2.0, 10:1, mallory dual point, header, holly 390 cfm 4 bbl. and Isky 465x 310 cam.
stock body, trans and rear end, 13 inch tires.
engine would start to develop power at about 2800, and it was like a normal car
BUT when the carb secondaries opened at about 4500 rpm the power really came on and would pull smoothly to about 7500 rpm.
shifted at 6000 all the time for about 3 years as DD on Los Angeles and the drivers in new porsches would wonder why they couldnt pass an ole beat up capri that would do 75 in second gear
only problem was that the booster venturies kept working loose from the vibration and i had to run motorcraft bf32 plugs which fouled a lot
just my opinion
