Well, I've looked everywhere, and I know this is kinda a stupid question to ask HERE, but, hey one of you fine ford fans might just be able to help. Anyway, I have been searching some EXPENSIVE, Rare, parts for my dad's 57' Thunderbird. He has been waiting over 25 years to fix it up, and it would mean so much to me if I could finally be able to see him drive and enjoy it. But here's the problem, it badly needs a resto, and what I'm talking about is two front fenders, two rear quarters, and some misc. engine and other parts. The fenders and quarters are the MAIN thing though, and for this particular car, they cost about $3000 EACH. Now I know that, to some of you, this may not seem like so much, but to me it means about 6 Pintos for ONE FENDER!!!! ( I paid $500 for my baby.) So anyway, you can see my delima. Does anyone know where I can get good, used parts, NOS patch panels or the like for cheap? He wants to do this car up right, as you can imagine, and anything will help.
THANKS,
BlueGoldPinto
Any time you mention NOS and cheep in the same sentance its not going to be a easy thing to do. I think there are some ford parts links on the links page that might help.
Wayne Curry & I used to go to the Ford swap in Columbus Ohio swap, 10 years.
Wayne had a pair of NOS rear 57 T-bird 1/4s that he took each time we went.
Nobody ever bought them. I think he wanted 450.00 for the pair.
Wayne died Oct. 10 2002 I have no clue what happened to those T-Bird 1/4s
Surely they make re-pop fenders for the T-birds????

Well, I figured that turbopinto72, but hey, I'm desperate and kinda depressed, you know? Anyway, I would have LOVED to have known about the rear quarters, I would have bought them right up!! Too bad though, I am sorry to hear about your friend and my condolenses go to you and his family. The reason the fenders and quarters are so expensive is that MOST of the molds were destroyed, and i think that only a few are left, sadly. They make fiberglass, but as I said he wants to do this car up right, and fiberglass just ise'nt worthy of this fine automobile. I will look in the links section though, thanks!
BGP: I agree, I would not put steel body parts on a vette either. (I know you did not intend that statement as an insult)

LOL, yeah, you know, I didn't even think of that either, 77turbopinto! :D ;D
