Title: Another Canadian Pinto Driver...
Post by: junkyard dog on July 29, 2005, 08:20:32 PM
Just wanted to say Hi and thanks for the great site...
The topics and posts  I;ve read over the last few months were very helpful to me.
it;s been over 20 years since I put together a V8 Pinto... :-\
Sold my drivetrain from my V8  Vega and bought a bunch of Mustang ii Parts off Ebay..(I;ve always been a Ford guy :D)
Finally found a a somewhat solid 1978 Pinto;Man I;ve wanted one for years.
I work as an Auto wrecker and lucky for me an old guy brought in a 1977 Granada 302 C4 carwith 60 thousand K;s on it!!!(I paid 50 bucks for it). These donour cars are as rare as Pintos here in Canada..
Well after 2 months of lunch breaks and saturdays i got my car going.
I tried desperately to avoid cutting the rad support;but couldn;t make it work for me.After about 5 times of putting the engine in and taking it back out i finnally got out the Sawzall :'(( I am an auto "Wrecker" not mechanic) those of you who were able to leave the stock rad support are very talented and very patient!!!!

Does the deep sound of a V8 Ford give you goose bumps???
Oh ya!! :D

P.S. I;m also a Hotwheel collector and have always used the name poison pinto on Other sites But I see that name was taken already here..
Always looking for redline and 70;s hotwheels

Can you take some pictures????? I would like to see what you did compared with what I did. I certainly appriciate the comment about leaving the top radiator support in. But why did you take it out? Radiator mount or engine install. My pics are in projects( ThunderPinto II gets an engine) and I am curious about other 302/c4 installs. Also, I am using the front spoiler from a 88-89 chevy celebrity. Check it out they work good.
