Hello all !
A new member here.
Ive had my 71 sedan since '86. My Grandmother bought it new in '70 and drove it till '82 ,then she gave it to my Dad and he drove it till 86 when he gave it to me. I then have been driving it daily as my only car till 2002.Â
The rebuilt 2.0,(600 cfm Holley, weiand 4 barrel manifold, new ported polished head,crower.504 286º ,high-volume oil pump, header, 2.25 exhaust with flowmaster) I had in it started giving me trouble,(VIBRATION!! ,bent crank ) and instead of rebuilding it again i thought id drop the V8 in it id always wanted to .
WELL its happening, but SLOWLY. Its at a friends house 45 miles away. That makes it very hard to work on it. ($$$ also ,of course) Of course I shouldn't have started the project when I did as my Daughter came 6 months later. It sat for another 8 months in his driveway without me touching it. I finally started again starting with the engine that i bought piece by piece on ebay. (In fact theres little that i haven't bought there! LOL)
So now over 2 years later its coming close, but its still far off prob 3-4 months or more of weekends. Sigh :'( I have to get it running so that I can move it under its own power. So I sadly wont be going to have the engine compartment painted the car color of competition orange as I had planned.
So heres a few pics Ive gathered over the period. Hope you enjoy!
SWEET!!!
Keep the photos coming.

Thanks though! if I get some more time ill RETYPE everything again ! its hard to with a 2 year old running around :)
By the way i saw a Panel very similar to yours on ebay . (glad everyones ok!!)
Fortunately, it wasn't my panel that was hit, it was a '78 standard wagon I used for my daily driver, but thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I understand about the two year old running around syndrome!! ;D My son may now be fourteen and heading to high school, but I still have the fond memories of this little guy that just had to be in the middle of whatever his daddy was doing!! Enjoy!! The time will go by much faster than you could possibly realize! ;)
71hotrodpinto,
Your pinto story sounds a lot like mine (at least how you obtained your pinto).
If you ever have any doubts about your typing being lost forever, try copying and pasting it to Notepad before going "back", or you can just copy it to your clipboard so that it doesn't get lost.
Beautiful car!
