Has anyone checked what the weight was on the front with a V8 swaped in,I am looking into a QA1 coil over shock for my 71 and and they are guessing a 16 to 1700 pound weight and a 600 lb spring, are they pretty close with their guess or what are your thoughts on this.
Thanks all
Tony
Tony, I moved my motor back 4'' and I'm @ 1600 on front & 1400 rear. I would think 1700 should be real close. Bud
When I first got my car (302w & T-5) I went to the self scales east of town.
Weighed the front, then whole car, then back.
Wrote it all down........and have not seen the note since !
So, I'm no help ;D
Thanks guys..
Also depends on motor and heads. Cause a LS1 weighs pretty close to what a turboed 2.3 weighs so springs could be a lot closer to stock were as a big block is gonna weigh a ton more.
I have a 76 wagon with v8, 4 speed, and 8" rear from an MII. Engine is set back enough that radiator is still behind the support. Front is 1560, rear is 1380 lbs. (53/47) Hope this helps.
