What have some of you guys done for a V8 manual swap,my 1971 was a factory automatic car and am putting in a 351 Cleveland with a top loader 4spd.i had someone contact me through the wanted forum on this site who has the pedals for me and have already paid for them so hopefully that all works out.
But my question is what would be the best route to do the rest of the hook up.
Thanks all in advance for your help.
Tony
I have fork numbers you'll need. May be in my car topic.....or at home: in which case you'll have to wait till I'm home.
You'll need the clutch cable. I bought a NOS one off of e-bay not long ago.
Hope the peddles you got are from a 71 or 72 (not sure about all 73s).
74 up are different.
What bell you using ? I also posted the one I'm using. I'll fetch the numbers.....Quicktime bell RM-6063
I'm pretty sure he said he had them in a 71, I'll double check.he already had the bent to clear the modified tunnel the car needs when clearance is made for shift linkage.
I am running the big Lakewood scatter shield and have already cut out what I need for room and am in the middle of re welding in the tunnel and firewall where I need it,the usuall story is I thought it would be easier and parts more readily available..
I hope the pedal fit but if not I'll resell them and continue my search for the proper ones.
Should have gotten in touch.....I have the Lakewood bell for the big (164 ?)flywheel. Will never use it.
Not 100% sure it bolts to the 351C though.
It would also require a push type clutch arm, needing even more room & mods.
I went with the smaller 157 for more clearance., and stayed with the pull type (stock) cable.
These are all parts that I already have,I've clooected Cleveland stuff for years ,the clutch cable ? Does it have to be 71 to 3 also, and I just double checked my emails,he says the pedals are from a 71.
And yes 164 tooth billit flywheel
Is there a kit that anyone knows of that converts the cable to a pull system.

You mean the fork & ball for inside the bell ?
Pintos are the pull type.
My Lakewood bell has no place to mount the pivot ball for that type fork.
Have never seen a kit.
Maybe call the maker of your bell & ask ?
My fork part numbers would be no good for your bigger bell.
I was thinking if the cable is long enough to come in from the back I should be able to design someething that would allow the cable to pull the fork, with out parts in hand it's hard to figure.
I see what you are saying now.
May interfere with the shift rods (cable) ?
May need more clearance with the fire wall / trans tunnel (fork) ?
