I would like to put a "better" carb on my 74 Pinto. will the Holley 2300 series 350 CFM 2BBL be a good replacement carb. The motor is stock except for an Eslinger header and 2 1/2" exhaust and Pertronix ignition. Will I need a "adapter plate" for the carb?
Yes and yes. The stock power valve circuit will feed too much fuel, it needs to be restricted down to like .020" holes each side.
FYI, old American Motors 2 bbl. carb adapters that used to be part of every 2 bbl. manifold make good adapters, the smaller inside hole pattern fits the small pattern on the 2.0 manifold.
Sure you got a 2.0? '74 came with 2.3................
Yes 100% sure its a 2.0 its one of the "early" 74's I wish it was the 2.3.
