JUST GOT MY FIRST 73 TRUNK MODEL PROJECT AND LOOKING TO UPGRADE THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND WONDERING IF I CAN JUST USE UPGRADES OR IF I HAVE TO DO MORE ,I"M LOOKING TO PUT SOME POWER UNDER THE HOOD AND NOT SURE ABOUT THE FRONT SUSPENSION ANY HELP WOULD BE NICE
What kind of power ?
IT LOOKS LIKE IS GOING TO BE ABOUT 400HP OF 4CYL MITSUBISHI TURBO SET UP AND A C4 TRANS
Pintoooo I want to hear more about your motor
About the only thing you can do to early cars is a brake upgrade to Wilwoods & add a front swaybar.
I need to find a sway bar for my 73
THE MOTOR IS A MITSUBISHI 4G63 WITH A STOCK TURBO AND SOME MINOR BOLT ONS AND WITH A KIT TO INSTALL IT TO A C4 WITH A MINOR STALL AND I THINK IT WILL HAVE 3.73 OR 3.90 GEAR...
What is that motor out of
EARLY 90'S TALON OR ECLIPSE MOSTLY
They both 4cylinders so I wouldn't think the suspension would need to be upgraded due to the weight.
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING BUT WANTED TO JUST PUT IT OUT THERE AND SEE WHAT PEOPLE SAY THANK YOU.DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN GET FLOOR REPAIR PANS OF ANY KIND
I heard a few people using modified mustang ii floor pans.watched a video of a foxbody mustang with a 4g63 run the 1/8 mile at 143mph!!!
I'm not sure if 71-73 Pintos even had sway bars but adding one from a later one is easy. My 73 has one from a 75 on it.
MII front pans are close enough as long as you aren't doing a 100 point restoration.
MY COUSIN HAS A 67 MUSTANG THAT RUNS 8.88 IN 1/4 WITH THIS ENGINE
That for a car that size with a small motor
