I purchased a new shift rail saddle and have a question regarding installation.......does the tab face towards the front or the back of the extension housing when installed on the shift rail?

I don't know, but I did come across that site and was wondering if that was the part you needed.

Are there any pictures of that part in the manual?

Hi Russ,

No photos in the manual. I think the original piece didn't have a tab on it.  This one, I think, is for the Merkur XR4Ti, but it fits perfectly.

2nd photo is of original part 
(Notice original part does not have the tab. They are no longer available, or very difficult to find)

I have always installed them with the tab forwards, had no issues
