This is a large project. I have always wanted a 302 in a Pinto and when I began working on it, I found that it cannot be done without chopping up the floorboard. Even then, the engine never sits level. It can be done if you reconstruct the cross member. That's too much work and too easy to mess up. My friend and I kept walking by this DeLorean in his junkyard. We finally decided to measure it out. The wheel base was less than 2 inches off. Good enough!! We took off the body and modified the frame. Then dropped the Pinto right on top. Other than vehicle height, it's great. The 302 and FMX fit perfectly. Of course, the DeLorean was sold with the 302 engine. When we do the body work, we will add ground effects. I built the drive shaft and shift linkage. The drive train is complete and it will move under its own power. I have to run new brake lines and build a throttle cable. It has a factory 4 BBL intake and I have a Weber 4 BBL. For now the Holley will have to do. It does look good with the laker pipes installed. I took them back off until the front clip is on and there's no risk in scratching them. Hope you like it.
Are you sure it's a DeLorean chassis? DeLoreans came with a V6 with a transaxle mounted in the rear of the car.
So, you dropped the pinto's unit body on top of the Delorean frame ?
A DeLorean in a junkyard? If so, get the rest of the body and ebay it ($$$$), but i am going to have to agree with Brien, are you sure it is in fact a DeLorean? The DeLorean came with a rear mounted Renault V-6 engine. It sounds like the car you are talking about has a front engine, unless you did infact mount the motor in the back (which would be COOL!). Plus, the DeLorean is also a Uni-body like the pinto.
