Title: My very first Pinto project
Post by: bigbill on July 02, 2005, 07:08:44 PM
Hi! my name is Bill(bigbill)and this is my first Pinto project. I guess I should confess that I have had Ford projects for over 40 years. I have owned a 62 ford(in 65) with a 406engine 3 two barrel carbs, and a 4 speed  I was 18 years old at the time. My next car was a 67 GT Fairlane 390 that I put a 427 in. I had that car when I went to Veit Nam in March of 69. When I came home I bought another 67 GTA Fairlane 390 that I put a 428 in it. Pretty soon after that my brother and I built a Ford dirt track race car and did that for about 10 years. In 89 I bought a 66 GTA all original car from the original owner and restored it and drove it for a number of years. In 99 I wenyt crazy and turned that car into a bracket race car DUMB STUPID thing to do. The car has a 439 c.i. FE engine with aluminum heads, intake, water pump, radiator ect. ect. I only run it on a 1/8 mi. track and it does 6.695 et at 102mph with a 1.31 60ft. time. Now I don't have a fun car to drive on the road so thats where the Pinto comes in. It is a 72 wagon and I have got a 5.0 out of a 83 Mustang and a T-5 trans and a 8.8 posi rear end out of a 88 T-Bird Turbo_coupe. I sure hope I can make all these little parts fit in this little car
