Title: Ranger Cam Basics?
Post by: crazyhorse on June 29, 2005, 11:50:37 AM
OK I'm ready to go get my cam. Now I just need to know WHICH cam I need. I'm looking at a junkyard roller cam from a Ranger. (plus lifters & rockers) What years are a direct drop in swap? I've read that there is a limit to years ,without doing some machine work on the rocker tips. Not that I can't do the machine work myself, I'm just too darned lazy. LOL SO... can anyone tell me what hoods I need to be lifting? The yard I'm going to is snake habitat, so I'd rather do a concentrated search! (I don't consider my Pinto a project to "die" for)

Thanks Pintony, I'll keep that in mind. Those don't sound like too much fun at hi RPMs!

I'm not sure about the Ranger years but to be safe you can use one from a 90-93 Mustang. You can search on Turboford for the Ranger years.
