Request for pics and or measurements front seats. I need the under seat from center hole to center hole for all four corners and diagonal WITHOUT rails.
My plan is to put MK2 VW early 90's Recaro's in to my stock Pinto with out hacking anything up. I want to use the stock Pinto rails, build an adapter then bolt the seat to it.
Any advice or warnings are accepted. I know I might get flamed but at least I'm not cutting up my stock seats or cutting holes in the floor :)
Thanks
just for reference,,,, any fox body mustang seat will bolt directly to your seat rails.... that's for years 71- 74 and 77- 80.... 75 and 76 have a different tranny tunnel shape and the inner seat rails are offset towards the outside of the car so you have to do a little work to get any other seats to work on them.....mustangs and escorts had recaro seats that bolt into the pinto so you have a little more to choose from..... but if you have the vdub seats already id use them...
So here's pics from one of the seats I have and the bolt measurements I know. Just want to know so I don't have over lapping bolts. There are 6 mounting screws total. 2 each side front one for each side for rear.
Mine are:
10 3/8 front to back
9 1/4 inner front to rear
16 side to side
20 diagonally

This is my third set I've bought. 2 others are for my GTI and Jetta. They fit and hold my body in place and are some what affordable at $250 and $300 a set. The recline, fold forward and have headrests that go up high enough.
Those seats look nice, let us know how it works.
I put my donor Turbo Coupe seats in my '73 wagon. They are kind of tight on the sides and around the seatbelt retractor. But, at least they tilt!
Here is my post on the process: http://www.fordpinto.com/general-pinto-talk/turbo-coupe-seats/msg75729/#msg75729
