The heater in the ugly yellow car had mice & other damage.
Need this door. Looks like rivets need to be drilled out to get the door out.
Some rust is OK, but the rubber has to be good.

Second part I need is the snorkel that is held on with two screws. Needs to be complete, no cracks & rubber in good shape.

Couple other ways to go.....can one still get a re-build "kit" with new rubber parts ?
or
A complete heater box. All in good shape. No heater core required.
Mouse damage

Hemmm, my doors had screws in the shafts, you could drill the rivets then put screws in?, I replaced all the foam and gaskets in mine with foam from a craft store worked out great.
When you split the box, there is a door by the heater core. I re-built that one with a type of foam.
I do not have a lot of faith it will last the years well. For sure not as well as originals.
The stuff I used is nothing like the original, I'll have to ask the wife what it's called she got it for me..
Man I could have that box fixed lickety split and no need to be looking for factory parts there at all. Box is hidden; who will see the repair? Pick correct closed cell foam and it'll last easily as long as the factory stuff did. Gotta be careful with foam, so much of it is intended to be biodegradeable now. Ford having h-ll with new 2012 and 2013 cars and foam degrading into dust in less than 6 months on like package trays above back seat and the like. Pretty funny.....................I've got foam repairs 10 years old and still work good.
I've never heard of a 'airbox rebuild kit' either, you buy the whole part or half at the junkyard.
Do not expect metal screws to hold in the old original fiberglas box, it will not hold screws like the newer plastic boxes will and breaks pieces off or pulls thread instantly. Use screw and nut on backside or rivet.

I know you can get them for Mustangs. Likely many other cars as well.
I'd replace original rivets with new rivets.
Not sure if it'll work but maybe patch that area as best as you can. I know it's not the same type of car but I broke the air box on my grandma's acheiva when I was replacing the heater core on the car. Patched it with cardboard, epoxy and duct tape. That was about 6 yrs ago & it's still holding. just a thought.
Collector specialty cars like Mustang or Camaro or high end Mopar yes, most other cars no. At least I've never seen them, I would've been using them for restoring AMC cars if available for sure. Of course AMC stuff never considered collectible, just look at AMX two-seater prices now.
Maybe Mustang II box? Some use the same box as Pinto.................vents and further out hose are different but box same, I've got a '74 Mustang II box in my '80 Pinto wagon.
Second picture from the top - the "snorkel" part , no longer needed.
Bought a NOS one from ebay last night.
