I have a 72 with a 2.0 and 4 speed tranny... Will my tranny bolt up to a 2.3 successfully? I thought I read that it could
You'll need stepped dowel pins. The 2.3 dowel pins are larger diameter than the 2.0s,
Or a 2.3 bellhousing. :) Either way would work, but I think the stepped dowels that are available are for putting a 2.3 bellhousing onto a 2.0, it sounds like he's going the other way around. I would just get the proper bellhousing and call it a day. :)
Actually most people use the step dowels to hang a 2.0 c-4 behind their turbo 2.3.
So, I have not converted my wagon to a T-5 because I have misunderstood this concept. That sounds like something I would do. Lol. I have a tendency to over-think things. Sorry for the mis-info. :)
What's the difference in size?, probably could just make sleeves to go over the smaller dowels.
There's guy on the Turbo ford forum that makes them.

That's a nice simple way of doing it.
