Title: driver door window stuck
Post by: renton481 on June 13, 2005, 11:43:40 PM
The window on my 79's driver's side door won't budge.  I guess I need to take the panel off and take a look at the mechanism.... but I don't know how to take it off without possibly wrecking the panel.  Could some one tell me how you take the panel off?  I know how to take the handles off -- it looks like they're just held on by phillips screws.  But how do you take the panel off?

The window crank, & door handle are indeed held by simpe phillips screws. The arm rest is held by 3/8 bolts in the bottom & a phillips screw under at the top. once these are off you can use a putty knife or a "panel popper" tool to CAREFULLY pry the clips out of the door, removing the inner panel. From there diagnosis of the stuck window regulator should be easy!

Thanks Crazyhorse, I appreciate the info.  I'll give it a try.
