Hello guys. Been a long time, got a new good paying job and such and I can finally afford to start work on my 76. Exciting right? Anywho I went and got some 95 Chevy Cavalier seats, there almost a perfect fit and comfy as hell. But I did discover some horrid cancer while yanking the interior out. It needs floor pans for the drivers side front and back and the passenger front. Also yanked the engine out to easily change to my new four speed. So I need pans and a shifter and boot.

Seats look good.
Welcome back, Glitch666 and congratulations on the new job! Remember to keep us informed on the progress you make with your Pinto.
Dwayne :)
Updated!
The seats are from a two door Cavalier correct ?
Yes! I think from a 95? They fit really good, the front hole lined up. Had to drill new ones for the back.
Sometimes the rust looks worse that it actually is. You might be a candidate to just treat the area. I have a real love/hate affair with POR-15. But in this case it might not be a bad option. They make a thin matte where you brush the POR-15 on, and then press it in. It helps to seal any pinholes and provides a degree of strength to the floor. I actually used it on a floor that was peppered with BB sized holes and it has held up well. I used the matte on both side in some cases.
I'd use a wire brush in an angle grinder and get off what you can, then keep it saturated with phosphoric acid to destroy the bulk of the rust. POR 15 recommends using their silver paint as the pigment of the silver is larger and works better for filling holes. A couple of before and after picture.
No the rust was very very bad, I just ground down what I could and layed some fiberglass and resin down untill I can fine some floor pans to cut out.
This one reason I keep my pintos inside , found most if not all the front windshield gasket leaks , and on the later 79 / 80 pintos the windshield does not but the cowl area does 😩, lasts years sucked when they skimped on the sealent , my 79 had none , and caught it in time before it would have caused the floors to be toast , if you keep your cars outside check under the carpet to make sure it's not wet , if its wet best to just remove the carpet now , save much more work later
And I am also starting work on my 76 , last year had some real bad luck in running over a lawn mower deck on the highway late last year , right rear tire blew up and screwed up the fender , now in process of cutting it out and welding in a new (new to me ) fender , and replacing all the tire with newer ones , can not find the old 195/70/R13 anymore , so got tree if anyone needs them , had a set of 15 X7 with 205/55/15 and going up to 205/60/15 ,
before cutting ,

Adds work time & money.......I'd be stripping the car & replace the metal now. No need for finding good pans - if they can be found.
Hmmmm, head of quality control I take it.. ;D ;D

Yep , got five of them, and I am the only Pinto owner that has their car Cat Scanned :o
I have a '77 California trunker that's going to get cut up when I'm done with it and I'm pretty sure the floors and rear quarters are good. Shipping would probably be killer though.
Cool project. I wouldn't mind having the compressor cover off of your turbo. ;)
Question on your alternator bracket; is the lower one that bolts to block made of iron or aluminum?
Got a used fender off a wrecked pinto off e bay , the silver tape in the photo was where I wanted them to cut it out , shipping was not bad , tomorrow I am going to spot weld them in , the floors can be cut out and used , they can mark how they want to cut it , and what I have learned is do not toss any pinto parts away if they are good , save to sell or trade or use later , keep every thing if you can ,
I got the used fender welded on , and as always it was cat scanned , just have to use a tiny amount of filler and prime and paint , planning a total repaint next year . just bolted on my wheels from my 79 wagon on , tires are now 205/60/R15s ,no rubbing in the front ,good ride over bumps , everyone have a great weekend ;D

I like those wheels.
I am having trouble finding anything local.
Are they new?
Yes those are new , brought them for my cruse wagon but had to use them when I blew a hard to find 13 tire , they are 15 X 7 , suppose to fit a mustang II on the order form , they did not list the pinto, the set I took off looked just like that , only they are 13" inch , 😩
