Hello:
Could someone do me a "BIG" favor and take a few pictures of their 1977 or 1978
Pinto engine showing the vacuum connections for a 4 cylinder, 2.3L and a 5200 carb
that has not been altered from the factory?
I really appreciate any help on this matter.

I don't have the ans because I am wondering the same thing. How do the vacuum hoses connect? I've been through several repair manuals and none seem to discuss where these hoses should begin and end. I am getting terrible gas milage (22 mpg) for a 2.3 and I suspect it is hose connections. So I hope someone can help. don
Tucson Don:
Hey, I know what you mean. I have the Ford 1977 Car Shop Manuals (Vols. 1-4), Haynes' Ford
Pinto & Mercury Bobcat (models 1975 thru 1980, 2.3L, 2.8L), Clymer's Ford Pinto & Mercury Bobcat
1971-1980 Shop Manual and Chilton's Pinto Bobcat 1971-80. You would think with all of that
information you could figure out where the vacuum lines should be connected. Well, guess what
it just ain't there! I've got wiring diagrams out of the wazoo but no vaccum diagrams for my particular
engine setup. I guess Ford just didn't think you would ever need such information. I'll keep trying
the Forum and hope someone can help us with this issue.
Thanks for your moral support! ;D

R4Pinto had requested vaccuum info about a year ago for his 77. I photocopied what I had and sent it to him. If he reads this maybe he can tell you if the info was helpful. If he answers yes I will copy it again and snail it to you.
Hey losin sux:
Thanks for the info. Hope it did help R4Pinto and we can make use of the data.
