Just got a 1973 Pinto from the Pinto Barn in California. It was just the year and interior I was looking for, including sunroof. Steve Wimmer and company were great to work with. Had it shipped to Florida. It arrived on a carrier with a BMW SUV and a Masserratti. (See photo) Glad Pinto Barn had the car for a while. They worked extensively on the engine and it runs like a dream. Tinted and replaced steering wheel this week.
Congrats, looks like a clean piece..
Good Luck with that beauty. I would check all the seals on that sunroof and make sure they are soft and will seal good in the moisture in Fla.
I saw that pic on facebook when he shipped your car. Nice find 8)
once upon a time 25 years ago or so i knew some people who their son played youth sports with my son and they had in storage a green 71 or so pinto .. i have`nt followed up on it since but the home is still there and the garage door is never opened .. i dont want to just walk up and say " hey ammember me !!! let me see that pinto again ? !!!
That '73 is, indeed, a beauty. I had to sell my '72 sedan and was looking for another Pinto when that one first showed up on eBay. I looked it over carefully in the photos, and then went to the Pinto Barn website where there was even a video "test drive" available. I am totally convinced you just bought a terrific Pinto! I decided against pursuing it because another car on that site caught my eye: the blue and white '78 they referred to as Ol' Blue. I fell in love with that car but there was a notation that it would not be available for sale until after the Fabulous Fords Forever show at Knott's Berry Farm in April. My intention was to get in touch with them as soon as the show was over. In the meantime however, I stumbled onto a gorgeous all original '72 Squire wagon with 66K documented miles located only a couple hundred miles from home. To make a long story short, I bought the Squire and drove it home rather than having to ship a car from California to Virginia. When they finally listed that '78, they put a "buy it now" price on it that was exactly the same as what I paid for my Squire! Too bad I don't have room for two Pintos!
I hope your '73 is as fabulous as it looks. Enjoy!
Dwayne :)
I bought a 75 Pinto a year ago but never could get it running. It's a lot of fun driving the 73 around town. EVERYONE wants to tell you their Pinto story.
Hoss429 - I would definitely "Pinto up" and go up to that house and knock on the door. Could be an undiscovered treasure.
tbucketjack - I will check all of the seals on the sunroof - good advice. Florida is hard on cars. I intend to garage this little beauty.
dga57 - I also looked at this car 2 years ago, when it came on the market the first time. Glad Pinto Barn got it though. They did some good work on the engine, sold it to me for a good price and then arranged all of the shipping. Good luck with your new wagon. That's REALLY low mileage. What a find.
I've personally met Steveo Wimmer, his family, and his talented Pinto Techs and can say full-heartedly that these are great people who love Pintos! Whenever I can get the $$$ I want mine to be rehabbed by them! :)
OP was that the one with the sunroof? if so It sure looked nice, I don't understand why they didn't talk about the sunroof more in the add?
Nice! I'd never heard of the Pinto Barn; wish I had though.
