Recently bought my son a 1978 wagon in great shape. I was looking for some replacement interior parts for it and stumbled upon a rusty 73 wagon without a motor pretty cheap. We both like the look of the older style grill, bumpers etc. Will the bumpers, grill, ect simply swap or are there other differences between the years that makes it impossible or overly difficult? Thanks
its a pretty easy swap, fenders are all the same, will have to make bumper brackets but can be done.
good luck!!
Remove the rubber headlight rings from your '78 & put the early rings on, use your hood since the latch is different, the front pan fits with minor trimming to clear the radiator support & you will need to fab bumper & grille mounts but that's fairly easy.
i have a set of headlight bezels, and the kick panels if you are still looking
I have a '72 grille.
