Title: My 1st Pinto, or Why was i Stupid enough to sell that?!?!
Post by: crazyhorse on September 14, 2003, 04:52:53 PM
This is my 1st "Lil' Horse". She was a black 1980 Hatchback. When I got her she was black, bent, and broken. the cam bearings were shot as were the rings. liuckily i had a perfect 2.3 and 4spd in my recently totaled '76 mustangII.
The driver's fender was crushed from the wheel arch fwd along with the headlight surround. i replaced the fender, and redid the thick gold pinstripe.
The front seat frames were both broken (I've never seen this happen before) I replaced them with 86 Celica Supra leather buckets. (nearly a perfect fit in the pinto)

Sweet ride,

I would like to see a pic of the interior with the seats you describe.

I'm pretty sure i don't have an interior pic, but the seats were definately from an 86 supra, the feet were flat in the rear, but vertical in the front. I bent the tracks flat, and the front holes lined up with the factory mounts. i had to drill new ones for the rear, and reinforce the floorboards with thick sheetmetal. BTW a console from a 79-85 fox 'stang will fit a pinto. I'm looking for one in good shape to put in my current car. When it's in i'll post pics
