Title: Vacuum Connection II
Post by: 77pintocw on June 06, 2005, 11:50:44 AM
Hello:

My local Ford dealership completely screwed up my vacuum connections and I am trying to connect them correctly and I really need some help.  Here is what I have:

1)  Air by-pass valve (thermactor system) â€" two vacuum connections (upper and lower)
2)  Air clearner mounted TVS â€" two vacuum connections
3)  Air clearner bimetal â€" two vacuum connections
4)  Unknown component (see Vacuum Connection 06/03/05) â€" two vacuum connections (upper and lower)
5)  Model 5200 Carburetor â€" one vacuum connection at base
6)  Integral backpressure transducer/EGR valve â€" one vacuum connection
7)  Distributor â€" one vacuum connection at base
8 )  Air cleaner duct motor â€" one vacuum connection
9)  Manifold vacuum â€" one vacuum connection at front and one connection at back

Here is what I have figured out so far which may be completely wrong.

a)  The EGR valve is connected to the single vacuum connection at the carburetor base with a check valve in the vacuum line.
b)  Using the one front manifold vacuum connection a vacuum line is attached to a four-way plastic connector.
c)  The distributor vacuum connection is attached to this four-way connector.
d)  One connection from this four-way connector is attached to the air cleaner bimetal.
e)  The upper connection from the air by-pass valve is attached to the air cleaner mounted TVS.
f)  The upper connection from the above unknown component to attached to the manifold vacuum connection at the back.

So what I have left to connect is:

1)  The lower connection from the air by-pass valve
2)  A connection at the TVS
3)  A connection at the air cleaner bimetal
4)  The lower connection from the unknown component
5)  The connection from the air duct motor
6)  A connection at the four-way connector.

Here is what I am guessing; the lower connection from the air by-pass valve is attached to the four-way connector?  The connection from the air duct motor is attached to the air cleaner bimetal?  So the lower connection from the unknown component to be attached to the TVS?

Thank you for your help and guidance.
