Does anyone have experience with Dell Orto carbuerators on a Pinto? Are they worth keeping, should I swap them for dual Webers, or just put a stock 5200 on it? They probably need to be rebuilt, are they difficult to rebuild or is it better to send them off and have them rebuilt?
The intake manifold they are bolted to has a Ford part number on it, did Ford sell very many early Pintos with this set up? Is it rare?
Looking for help,
Pat
Hey Pat,
I'm sure the Delorto carbs are not original equipment.
Possibally dealer installed??
Most likely owner installed.
There are many different weber manifolds. Includint the Ford Unit.
What makes you think your carbs need rebuilt???
Its not hatd to do. The delortos are very simple carbs.

Here is a picture of the intake with Ford part number, are the Dell Orto's worth keeping, are they a good set up?
Here is a picture of the Dell Orto's, they fit good, the linkage and all work very nice, it all looks like a factory setup.
Hey Pat,
How does it run???
NEW webers are going to cost plenty and they will need re-jetted.
I'd just buy a pair of kits and make them shiney new again.

I always thought that FORD manifold was ugly.
Dosen't look too bad on the car though. 8)
