I am in the process of a 302 with T5 installation into an 80 Pinto. For those that have performed a similar swap, can the stock Pinto clutch cable be used with the 302 bellhousing and if so, how? If not, what cable(s) could be used?
Thanks,
GH440
It can be used the only problem is the ball on the end of the cable is too small and pulls through the clutch fork hole.
But there is an easy fix atleast it was easy for me I used a washer that the ball couldnt pull itself through cut slit in it that the actual cable can slide through. On mine I hit the washer with a ball pin hammer to shape it more like a socket for the ball to sit in then I welded the washer to the clutch fork and it seems to work perfect that way.
Hope that helps.
Thanks Bigtimmay - I'll give this a try.
