Pinto Car Club of America

Hi everyone,  recently joined forum Im a longtime pinto addict.  Havent had one for about 7 years and then I find this PRISTINE :o pinto waiting to be scrapped at a local yard.  What you are about to hear is true......LOL
1 owner, original issue plates, yellow brown interior, 4spd, 2.0, runabout 45k total miles.  I seriously found this pinto that had been GIVEN to the crusher.  Its owners are 86 and 84 wife bought it for husband to commute to work from the dealership in town !  I approached the owner of the salvage yard and he agreed it was really too nice to crush, so he sold me the car and completed Dmv paperwork for 500.00.  I approached the previous owners regarding history on the car and they were so excited to hear that it wasnt being crushed after all.  'they loved there pinto and it shows, garaged most of its life.  So, they say " we took the liscense plates off so they wouldnt fall into the wrong hands, do you want them?"  ;D
I gave it the safety check found low master cylinder and one sparkplug wire crimped under edge of cam cover and exaust manifold, fixed those two issues and drove it away. Yes it drove like new!!!!
