Title: Crusing Wagon Dash install on base Pinto
Post by: Pintopower on May 10, 2005, 05:20:10 AM
Had a question for you guys. I have a COMPLETE crusing wagon dash assembly complete with harness. What kind of a disaster is it to install that setup in a pinto that had the basic speedo - fuel dash? I want to put it in my 80 sedan. The cruising wagon parts are from a 77. Any ideas?

Hey Pintopower,
The wiring should not bee too bad. About a 3 night project by yourslf.
Do yourself a favor, remove the front seats. makes it much easyer to work on the dash.
Only problem I see is that the Alt. wiring may not be on the correct side of the new loom.
Yank the steering wheel too... ???
Oh... wait... You have one of those new fangeled V8's
Your on your own!!!~!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

V-8? I have a V-6. I was wondering if I should replace the whole harness splice in the extra wires. I have all the wiring diagrams.
Thanks for the info Pintony

V6 OK...
Go to walmart and buy 3 paint Pens. Near theplastic model kits.
Then mark the wiring harness at the conectors with a different mark + - o X =
Works great for vacume hoses too.
That way you know for sure which wires-hoses go where.
You may not need 3 pens if you do not have a buch of connections.
I use Red for wires and blue for water.

Hey Alberto!

I'm going to be doing the same thing on my '77, so I've been studying the wiring diagrams. Be glad to come by and help you with your conversion if you want the help!
