i am gonna be starting a new project car this summer, and i want to build a pinto runabout. i see lots of street/strip style buildups, but i havent seen and g-machine style pintos. i know v8 pintos aren't corner carvers, because of the added weight in the front. but this is what i was thinking.
building a fuel injected, supercharged(or turbo ;D) all aluminum small block (block, heads, intake, of course a battery relocation kit, fiberglass front end, inner fenders removed, making everything as light as possible up front)
either a built c4 with a gear venders overdrive or a five or six speed manual.
mini tubs in the rear, full roll cage, fully built suspension(coilovers in the front, anti roll bars, stress bars, etc) and some wide wheels with low profile tires.
what would be the largest wheels you could fit on a pinto with no inner fenders and mini tubs in the back? i was thinking something like 16's or 17's as wide as possible front and rear. or course a clean paint job and a comfortable daily driver interior. what do you all think?
