Title: 71 tie rod ends and leek help

does anyone know where to find 71 pinto tie rod ends looked everywhere cant find then. also i have a 1.6 in my car and was wondering if there is anything i can do to give the little motor alittle more pep. steep rodes are kinda slow goin. plus i went through a car wash yesterday and my FEET got wet! any idea where the leek is coming from?

I don't think the 1.6 is related to the 2.0, but if it IS there's a TON of aftermarket for it. For a little boost in HP you can lean the carb a LITTLE & advance the timing, but be prepared to run 93 octane gas. A little lean helps build HP, a lot lean helps burn up pistons & valves. If you get ANY spark knock richen it back up immediately! (locals call it "valves rattling")

thanks have another question the car had a fire under the hood so its not the stock carb (uncle bought and put on before i bought from him) and the airbox is gone so the vac lines are all plugged is this bad or maybe ok?

Sounds like he did away with the emissions controls. If it runs good, then it's probably not a bad thing.
