Monday morning I went to drive the War Wagon, my green '73. About two miles from home I heard shh-shh-shh noises and I was thinking, "not the transmission again!" and about the same I noticed the speedometer was going wild- I was maybe going 45-55 mph but the needle was all over the place- mostly pointing towards the 110 mph mark! The car runs ok for her, but I was naturally worried so she went home and I took ever-reliable Ruby to work. After I got home I looked under the hood and saw nothing amiss. Can anyone tell me what the heck happened? Thank you.
Hey Bluepinto, check your speedometer cable, it is either sticking somewhere,or about to break. If it keeps up the erratic movements it might just need some lubricant. To replace it is not costly and you could easily do it yourself. ;)
Thank you JonzWagon! Keep your fingers crossed! ;)
Hey Bluepinto, did you get your weird noise fixed????? :) :) :)
Sadly I've been too busy. I'm hoping for next weekend. ;D
