I talked to the guy, it sounds like a solid car, we is really looking to trade/barter but said he would take cash..

Having eyes on is a completely different deal.
For me, it would be manditory, due to distance. As a few on here can testify, what is rust free to one person may mean a completely different thing to another.

Good example is the one I went to Sask to look at. Talked to the guy on the phone & he repeatedly said rust free. Drove 6 hours to his place & it was so rusty the seats were falling through the floor !

Need eyes on.....

Ask him to send some pictures, I grew up about 90 miles away from Redding, the area is real easy on cars as far as rust, but your right, eyes on is way better.......
